When will the construction be finished?
Hopefully by the end of July so we have enough time to move into the new space. Construction timelines always vary depending on variables such as weather, etc, but we feel good that at this point that deadline will be met
Why is this happening to our school?
We are adding on to supplement the growth of Liberty and the amount of kids coming to our schools. Lewis & Clark is expected to grow by quite a few students in the coming years. This will allow space for that growth. It was also a district descision to add space in this way as a cheaper and more efficient alternative to building new buildings and also redoing boundaries.
What grades will be in the rooms?
At this point, 5th grade will probably fo to the new space. The planning for the use of the flexible space is still early and we have not made any final decisions. We are working and thinking through options for what that will look like next year.
How will the construction affect our school?
It will really impact our school by allowing us space to accommodate student growth without having to use portable classrooms. Obviously, we are impacted now with recess, noise, and other minor problems because of the current construction, but it is well worth it in the end.
How long have the construction workers been working?
The construction started in Jaunuary
What will be put in the new addition?
It will really impact our school by allowing us space to accommodate student growth without having to use portable classrooms. Obviously, we are impacted now with recess, noise, and other minor problems because of the current construction, but it is well worth it in the end.
There should be the original class amount, 25 per classroom.
